It's a December Extravaganza!

GUESS WHAT. It's almost December. It feels like I just posted the November events post, time flies! SO. December's going to be a little different from most months! Why is that you ask? Because we have not one but four events that last one week each. They're passive events though, so your characters will need to make posts, logs, etc. to react to them because they are definitely horses of a different color for this holiday season. Let's take a look at December in shortt first, then we can go into a little more detail...

December 1-7: Tropical Christmas (Glitch)
December 6: End of Activity Check (Starts Nov. 29th)
December 8-14: It Must Have Been the Mistletoe (Glitch)
December 15-21: Winter Wonderland
December 24: Secret Santa Gift Exchange (Character-Run Event)
December 25: Christmas Item Regain
January 1: Interaction Log (Covers Dec.29th-Jan.4th)

Tropical Christmas
Something's off here. As in, this is painfully obviously some kind of glitch. All of the trees are palm trees now and there's an actual ocean. Like with a beach. It's hot even. But everything is decorated with lights and corny decorations and there's music playing from Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hannakuh-- traditional and current. And even offensive from time to time. Oops. Whatever, maybe you should grab your hula skirt and some peppermint mocha with a little umbrella in it and head to the beach. Looks like there are even surf boards and beach balls provided.

It Must Have Been the Mistletoe
There's mistletoe hidden all about the school and the town and even in the forest! Nowhere is safe! Like really, it appears to be some kind of glitch... Especially since if you get within a 5 foot radius of the mistletoe, you're trapped there until you kiss someone. A kiss on the cheek is okay, of course, don't worry. No forced makeouts. Unless you want to makeout. That's okay too. Once the kiss happens, it seems like the strange forcefield surrounding the mistletoe lifts until it captures its next victims. This will happen from December 8th through 14th.

Winter Wonderland
It's snowing! And it's not a blizzard like last year! No, this time it's a light and fluffy, calmly falling snow. About 6 inches deep, plenty to play in! There are also many arctic animals, like penguins and reindeer roaming around. Even polar bears drinking Cocoa Pola! The actual layout of the school hasn't changed, but it seems like these creatures don't seem to mind that the climate isn't -595043570843 degrees. It's just a general change in weather and scenery for this week though. This will happen from December 15th through 21st.

Secret Santa Gift Exchange
A Secret Santa event! Characters can sign themselves up or sign each other up to participate. Mel-mod will be running this as a character-run event using either Riki or Celica. She will use RNG to decide who gets paired up with whom. There will be an announcement post and sign ups on December 4th, then you can sign up any time between the 4th and the 17th. On the 18th, an ooc list of who got who for the Secret Santa will be posted. Your characters will not be able to ICly see this list, so your character will only know who they personally got. On the 24th, the actual gift exchange occurs and a log will be put up. It'll be a small gathering to exchange gifts, decorate a tree, and drink hot cocoa and non-alcoholic egg nog.

Christmas Item Regain
That's right, it's that time of the year! Sign-up your character to have a gift returned to them and on Christmas morning when they wake up, it'll be wrapped up on the floor in the middle of their bedroom. Gifts may not exceed a certain size unless you are given explicit permission from the moderators for approved items. If the items are powerful mods may put limits on them, so in the sign up post please be detailed about any items endowed with powers so that we can properly assess the item. It's best to go for sentimental items, items that your character may need, or items that you just want your character to have. If you have any questions about a gift, feel free to contact the mods under the "Questions" thread that will be on the sign-up post. You may sign up any time before Christmas and the sign-up post will go up on Sunday, December 22nd.

Interaction Log
The Interaction Log this time is going to be on the week of New Years and will cover the end of December and the start of January! It will include a bit of New Years festivities including fireworks and the special introduction of a new NPC who will interact with characters on the log.

That's it! I say that's it, but that seems like a heavy load. As I said, there won't be any logs except for the Secret Santa and the Interaction Log, though, so it's more of a passive thing. You can pick and choose what you want your character to participate in and just have some general fun for the holidays. The calendar also presents all events in a nice calendar format and the Weekly Specials as served in the cafeteria. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on this post!
